This is by far the most unique knife designs you would ever use; its trying to get over the conventional carry of a light weight knife and suddenly immersed into the mid to heavy catagory, but thats where the belly aching stops. The TBT really is a very useable knife (regardless of what others say), i found the grips that come with it a little slippery at first but realized that as your hands get either wet or clammy the grips start to accept the hand and really work with the knife.
The TBT does all jobs you would want it to, and does them very well. Just make sure you study the instructions that come with the knife, and practice them before you set out.
The TBT as with all the knives of TOPS are all essentialy "handmade", so you really get a sense of ownership pride with this tool. I've owned mine now for about a year and if I were to do it again , I would buy this again the first time. the Rotating clips at the back of the Kydex sheath do get some getting used to, but you realize that they were made that way for a reason. If you want to match this with a leather sheath you can call a really great guy over at Hedgehog Leatherworks his name is Paul; he builds Bombproof leather sheaths that are absolutly top drawer. Anyhow the knife in mention is a little on the weighty side , but that is a part of TOPS ingenuity, it helps on the chop or keeping the saw blade on the back in the groove. Please really consider this knife , it is a true survival tool for real world applications..
