NOTE: Our price includes both the knife and the factory wooden display case (a 165.00 retail value)
Case is proud to introduce this 'faithfully true' re-creation of a World War II ear V-42. Originals were made exclusively by Case according to U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Robert Tl Frederic's design in 1942 and issued to the First Special Service Force (a.k.a. 'The Devil's Brigade') which he commanded. The Case V-42 has since been regarded as one of the rarest of all WWII fighting knives and a sought-after piece of historic war militaria.
The Case V-42 re-creations was developed and manufactured according to exacting standards of the original Case museum V-42. This knife measures 12 1/2" long and weighs 7 ounces. It features a unique 'thumbprint' enbedded within the knife's ricasso which served as a thumb grip. The knife's blued blade is double-concave ground, yielding the knife's signature center line. Other attributes include a mark side tang stamp, a leather-covered steel guard and a threaded and pinned-on cone shaped pommel. The stacked genuine leather handle has been meticulously constructed with special gimping. Even the accompanying leather sheath was made in accordance with the wartime original, with sleeve-reinforcing steel teeth, careful stitching and diamond-shaped brass rivet covers.
Case XX Genuine Collectable medallion and Certificate of Authenticity included, as is the Genuine Case wooden display box in our special offer.
