Carbon Steel (CS) blades are a high carbon blade and require extra care to maintain the high polish.  Keep the blades clean and lightly oiled to keep the blades looking new.

Case XX two blade Mini Trapper with Yellow handles. -High Carbon Chrome Vanadium (CV) Clip and spey blades -Chrome Vanadium finish -3 1/2" closed; 2.2 ounces Please note that Chrome Vanadium is a high carbon steel with excellent edge holding and ease of sharpening qualities. But, high carbon has a tendency to rust. Keep your blades clean and lightly oiled to help maintain the finish. Tarnishing does not affect the quality of the blade.
