The blades in this knife are Chrome Vanadium (CV) which is high carbon. High carbon blades sharpen very well and keep their edges, but require extra care to maintain the factory finish. Keep the blades clean and lightly oiled.

USA Chrome Vanadium (CV) is a high carbon steel that takes and holds an excellent edge. It is the original Case steel. High carbon steel will rust. Keep the blade clean and lightly oiled if you wish to keep the high polished finish.
