  • Spyderco Respect Bowie

    $462.00
Spyderco founder Sal Glesser has always liked Bowie knives, and he designed the Respect Bowie to pay tribute to the classic American Bowie Knife. Though the design is classic, with it's full guard and clip point blade, it has been constructed using modern materials. The blade of the Respect Bowie is crafted from CPM 154 stainless steel. The blade is an impressive .300 inch think at the spine and ricasso, but is flat ground over its entire 1.5 inch width to ensure an edge that can handle fine cutting tasks. The unsharpened swedge on the spine of the knife guarantees an acute point and exceptional piercing ability. The Respect's guard is machined from stainless steel and then press fit to the tang and shoulder of the blade. The guard is then secured with contoured G-10 scales that have machined cavitites to completely envelop the hidden tang. These scales are then secured with stainless steel Torx fasteners to achieve an one piece handle feel that highlights the ergonomics of the handle. In a nod to tradition, the Respect ships with a high quality, hand crafted leather sheath. The sheath features a conventional belt loop along with a brass stud, which not only secures the leather retaining strap but also prevents the sheath from slipping down when worn inside the waistband. Specs: Weight: 11.2 ounces Overall Length: 13.15" Blade Length: 7.94" Blade Steel: CPM 154 Blade Thickness: 0.300" Blade Shape: Clip Point Blade Grind: Full Flat Blade Finish: Satin Handle Material: G-10 Sheath: Leather with Belt Loop Country of Origin: USA

  • Old Hickory 7"" Butcher Knife

    $15.97

Old Hickory 7" Kitchen Butcher Knife.

First introduced in 1924, the Old Hickory® knives are the most venerable product line still in active production. The Old Hickory® knives feature a hardwood handle secured with brass compression rivets to 1075 carbon steel blades that are both very sharp and capable of retaining an edge better than most stainless knives. Proudly manufactured with artisan processes for over 90 years, Old Hickory® has stood the test of time and is proven to be the best carbon steel kitchen cutlery sold today.

    USE & CARE

Please note that the Old Hickory knives are made with carbon steel.  We have been making Old Hickory since the early 1900's.  Carbon steel knives require extra care to prevent rusting and oxidation of the surface.  Old Hickory should not be placed in a dishwasher or allowed to soak in a sink.  We recommend cleaning the blade with a damp sponge or cloth and dry thoroughly.  Some people go a step further and apply a light coating of vegetable oil to the blades surface. If your blade shows signs of rust, use some steel wool to remove it and then apply some oil to the blade.   To keep the blade razor sharp, use a honing steel, sometimes referred to as sharpening steel, or sharpening stick. After years of use, the steel blade will develop a patina, a darkening which is desirable and an indication of its age.  Old Hickory knives are durable and affordable, but do require special care.
