Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. Back then their product family consisted of only one product, the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker. But then in 1981 Spyderco introduced their first folding knife which introduced the pocket clip and the now instantly recognizable hole in the blade for one handed opening. Those revolutionary features changed the entire knife industry and laid out the framework for what we now recognize as a modern folding knife. In the nearly 40 years since then Spyderco has remained on the cutting edge of knife design and innovation, incorporating new materials, blade steels, and design features into their knives. With iconic models such as the Endura, Delica, Military, and others as mainstays in their lineup, Spyderco is constantly introducing new and exciting models and variations to the market to push the performance envelope.
