TOPS

The name comes from the mythical creature Lilith, who has been depicted as a seductress, heroine, and the embodiment of female wiles and secrets. A fitting name for such a large, powerful, and elegant tool. It has high grinds to give it great edge geometry for cutting tasks and great for deep cuts when chopping. The handle has the right amount of thickness and heft and is well-contoured to make it very comfortable to wield. Because the handle tapers toward the pommel as you would expect to see with throwing knife designs, there is a finger ring that is chamfered to aid in retention. TOPS also added a lanyard hole for those that would like to choke back for a little more length in chopping and help them to keep a good hold on it.

TOPS Mil-Spie 3 Elite BCM: This version is called the Mil-SPIE Elite. It is the same size and specs as the Mil-SPIE 3, with a few differences. The Elite version is 1095 high carbon steel instead of 154cm, which makes field sharpening much easier. The Mini Scandi Folder designed by TOPS and made by Maserin has been a welcome addition to the TOPS lineup for several years now. Because of its popularity and functionality, we’ve decided to add another blade option on what is basically the same handle. This new liner lock MSF has G10 handles instead of Micarta. We also wanted to use a “super steel” –Elmax in this case –that we hadn’t used before for the folks that have been wanting high end steels from TOPS. The pivot screw has a little more flare and the pocket clip has been converted to a deep carry clip. It is still reversible for the lefty’s out there too. The other main difference is that this blade is a clip point with a high flat grind instead of a modified Scandi drop point. Once you get this blade in your pocket and start using it, it is sure to become a main choice for EDC folders.

TOPS FDOG-01 Field Dog Fixed Blade Knife.

Ana has worked at TOPS since about 2012. She has filled many roles in the company during her tenure, from cord wrapping handles to purchasing everything (parts, pieces, tools, even paper towels) for the company. So she is familiar with every TOPS knife out there right now and has ordered the materials to make it happen. One night in 2019, while Leo was traveling for a show, she cracked open a beer, sat down at the table, and started drawing a knife. It’s funny because that is not something she normally does. There wasn’t a specific type of knife she was thinking about or something that she wanted to emulate, but she must have been inspired because that knife ended up becoming the Field Dog. The flowing lines and curves make this knife excellent for processing fish, birds, and small game, especially for those that like a pointy tip on their hunting knives. The handle design/materials morphed through the prototyping process. In the end, tan/black G10 handles with Orange G10 inserts give this knife a striking look and will stand out when you set it down on the ground. The blade steel is 154cm so it will be fairly low maintenance with great edge holding capabilities. The black leather sheath is modular so it can be worn left or right-handed and horizontal or vertical.

The Silent Hero 04 with Smooth Black Canvas Micarta Handle will definitely hold up to hard use. And with a weight of only 12 oz, you'll be able to use the knife without getting fatigued too quickly.

  There is a lanyard hole in the handle along with another in the finger guard. This is meant to allow the user to add a safety cord in order to improve the grip on the handle, which already allows for a solid grip. The finger-guard hole can also be used to assist in lashing to a spear when the situation warrants it.

  There is a finger choil up into the blade to give you the ability to choke up and execute precise, fine cuts. The drop point design makes this knife great for slicing and gives the tip extra strength. So this knife will be a great knife for bushcraft, survival, and tactical purposes.

  The black leather sheath is durable and looks great paired with this knife. The Silent Hero is held in place with a single snap loop that curls around the finger guard.
