This unique expression of it elevates the design to all-new heights by rendering it with titanium handle scales and an ultra-reliable Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism with a stainless steel interface. Meticulously crafted from solid titanium, the scales have precision-machined recesses on their interior surfaces to minimize weight.  They also include four sets of mounting holes for the knife’s broad-based pocket clip to allow a choice of left or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry. Designed by company co-founder Sal Glesser, the Temperance was one of Spyderco’s earliest fixed blade models. Now this classic design is back as a limited-edition Sprint Run, showcasing a gray-colored fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle and a full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ or SpyderEdge™ blade crafted from CPM CRU-WEAR. Specially formulated to offer both superior wear resistance and toughness, CRU-WEAR’s advanced alloy composition is further enhanced by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process to ensure an ultra-fine, extremely homogeneous grain structure. The second-generation Military 2 enhances the venerable Military model with the addition of a high-strength Compression Lock® mechanism and the versatility of a four-position pocket clip. This expression of it raises the bar even higher with a blade crafted from Spyderco’s proprietary CPM SPY27 steel. Starting with the time-tested alloy formula of VG-10 stainless steel, SPY27 increases the volumes of carbon, molybdenum, and vanadium and adds niobium and nitrogen. Crucible® Industries’ state-of-the-art particle metallurgy manufacturing process then ensures a uniform distribution of these alloys throughout the steel.
