When Spyderco introduced the first Sprint Run™ Shaman® combining the traditional look of brown canvas Micarta scales and CPM CRU-WEAR blade steel, we were overwhelmed by the response. Later dubbed “CruCarta,” this distinctive pairing of old-school, high-performance materials became an instant classic. To ensure we could meet customer demand when we applied the “CruCarta” treatment to other models, we decided to make them full-line products, not limited editions. We began with the Para Military 2 and are now proud to add four more USA-made models to this elite family. All feature skeletonized full stainless steel liners, slim brown canvas Micarta scales, and CPM CRU-WEAR tool steel blades that offer an outstanding balance of edge retention and toughness. The scales of all these knives are sanded smooth but left unpolished, so they will naturally patina with age and handling to develop their own unique character.

The SpyMyto™ is a truly unique folding knife that was inspired by the lionSTEEL® Myto™ and is produced by lionSTEEL exclusively for Spyderco. Its hollow-ground, drop-point blade is crafted from M398—an enhanced version of Böhler-Uddeholm’s M390 capable of achieving extremely high hardness and wear resistance. In addition to a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole, the blade features a removable flipper opener, ball bearing pivot washers, and a beautifully radiused spine. The SpyMyto’s handle consists of a linerless green Micarta scale on one side and a solid titanium scale on the other. The latter forms the foundation of the knife’s stout Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism, which includes a hardened steel interface/overtravel stop. Both scales have painstakingly machined textured chamfers and are joined by a carbon fiber backspacer. A reversible deep-pocket clip mounts to the butt end of the handle to provide left or right-side tip-up carry. This stunning knife is being released as a Flash Batch—a distinctive, one-of-a-kind expression of a model that has not been previously released. Originally introduced in 1992, the Catcherman was a folding fillet knife specifically designed to meet the needs of discriminating fishermen. One of our last models to feature an integral molded pocket clip, it also became a cult classic among serious Spyderco collectors. This limited-edition Sprint Run resurrects this unique design in a form that is distinctly different from all its predecessors. For the first time, its thin blade is full-flat ground and showcases ultra-corrosion-resistant LC200N steel.
