Where have you seen this profile before? Thats right. The new Kershaw Natrix is based on brother brand Zero Tolerances 0770, which itself was inspired by the award-winning ZT 0777. The design has apparently been the envy of certain other knifemakers. And now were taking it back. Kershaws new Natrix features a drop-point blade of 8Cr13MoV that offers solid performance with good edge-holding and easy resharpening. The stonewashed blade finish looks good and even helps hide use scratches. Accessed with the built-in flipper, SpeedSafe assisted opening makes it easy to open the Natrix one-handed so its always ready when you need it. The handle is lightweight G-10, 3D-machined and chamfered to fit comfortably in the hand. An oversized pivot provides an attention-grabbing detail on the front of the knife, while our patented Sub-Frame Lock secures the blade and provides a dramatic, contrasting line on the back. The Kershaw Sub-Frame Lock is covered under US Patent 69.120.234. The Roadie is a highly evolved penknife that is more practical and user-friendly than its historical predecessors. It’s most distinguishing characteristic—the “Double Dent™”—is a pair of symmetrical dimples in the blade that provide a solid purchase for a fingernail-free two-handed opening. Far superior to a traditional nail nick, they also do not collect dirt or debris. At the base of the blade near its juncture with the handle, there is a subtle forefinger choil (finger groove). Both the choil and the opposing thumb ramp on the spine of the blade feature jimping (textured grooves) to promote a positive, non-slip grip. Unlike a traditional slipjoint, the Roadie’s blade is held open by an improved notched-joint mechanism. Its spring also forms the handle’s full-length back strap, giving it structural strength and providing a foundation for the durable fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales.
