The Leviathan's reverse Tanto blade is made from D2 tool steel, which offers good edge retention along with more toughness than most steels that are commonly seen in folding knives. Even though it is a high carbon tool steel, D2 has 10%-13% chromium which makes it a semi-stainless steel.
