$109.97The C.A.T. (Covert Anti-Terrorism) series includes some of the earliest models TOPS ever produced, and they have been in service ever since. They have been carried by military, law enforcement, hunters, campers, and bushcrafters. This new version includes Red and Black G10 handles with a tread we call Rocky Mountain Bulls-eye. Those grooves improve the grip and the look of the knife, but cause hot spots like many other tread patterns. The purpose of the C.A.T.s was to provide a solid back-up blade that is easy to conceal and could save lives in the right scenario and with proper training. It is a small, strong, highly versatile knife that is easy to use and maintain. The design allows for good penetration and slashing cuts as well as a multitude of EDC uses. The kydex sheath helps maintain a low profile and has a rotating clip so it can easily be worn in multiple carry positions. USE & CARE
Please note that the Old Hickory knives are made with carbon steel. We have been making Old Hickory since the early 1900's. Carbon steel knives require extra care to prevent rusting and oxidation of the surface. Old Hickory should not be placed in a dishwasher or allowed to soak in a sink. We recommend cleaning the blade with a damp sponge or cloth and dry thoroughly. Some people go a step further and apply a light coating of vegetable oil to the blades surface. If your blade shows signs of rust, use some steel wool to remove it and then apply some oil to the blade. To keep the blade razor sharp, use a honing steel, sometimes referred to as sharpening steel, or sharpening stick. After years of use, the steel blade will develop a patina, a darkening which is desirable and an indication of its age. Old Hickory knives are durable and affordable, but do require special care.
