    The Spyderco Ikuchi was designed by Paul Alexander, Ph.D, a mechanical engineer and lifelong knife enthusiast. The Ikuchi features a slim, slightly curved handle with full length, skeletonized steel liners and carbon fiber/G-10 laminate handle scales. When in the closed position the Ikuchi's CPM S30V blade is completely contained within the handle, with the exception of a small jimped section of the blade tang that serves as a flipper tab. This allows for either a conventional flip using the index finger, or it can be operated as a front flipper using the thumb. The Ikuchi locks up via Spyderco's patented Compression Lock which allows for easy one handed unlocking.
