The latest version of this formidable folder adds the benefit of injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle scales. Besides reducing the overall weight of the knife, the tough FRN scales also offer the enhanced non-slip grip of Spydercos Bi-Directional Texture pattern. All other features are faithfully retained, including a black coated full-flat-ground 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade, full skeletonized stainless steel liners, a sturdy LinerLock, and a versatile four-position pocket clip. Cold Steel 62RQ 4-Max Scout. The original 4 Max proved to be all that you hoped for. But it was expensive and difficult to manufacture and deliver in a timely manner to meet customer demand. The 4 Max Scout is easier to produce and is a far more affordable alternative. It features an extra wide, drop point blade and stone wash finish, which is identical to the original 4 Max. It's crafted from 5mm thick AUS 10A steel, for strength, toughness and edge holding potential. The handle's silhouette mirrors the original. Instead of a G-10 handle the 4 Max Scout has one made of Griv-Ex with stainless steel liners and a Griv-Ex back spacer. Equipped with Andrew Demko's ground breaking Tri-Ad locking mechanism the 4 Max Scout has passed every one of Cold Steel's grueling shock and impact tests and then gone on to hold 600 lbs. of free hanging weight with no damage! Ti-Lite tactical folders evoke the sleek speed and rebellious lines of the classic 1950's-styled switchblade. Unlike most switchblades however, they are legal to carry nearly everywhere. They feature American S35VN Alloy blades with DLC (Diamond Like Coating), razor sharp edges and sturdy, needle sharp points. The handles are made of high quality G-10. And for maximum strength and safety, Cold Steel has equipped the Ti-Lites with their patent pending, stainless steel leaf spring locks (proven, in their tests, to hold 130 lbs). For ease of carry, the Ti-Lites come equipped with a small, but unobtrusive steel pocket clip, and can be opened rapidly by using the thumb studs or by snagging a quillon on the edge of your pocket as you draw your knife out.
