The first knife ever to feature Kinematic technology, it stays neatly tucked away in transit and comes to life when theres trouble afoot. Modeled after a traditional karambit, the black oxide-finished hawkbill-style blade is forged of a premium D2 steel for high durability and excellent edge retention. The opening mechanism is pulling the folder into the future whether its ready or not. Thumb pressure on the upper crossbar sets the chain reaction in motion, causing the blade to lunge to action while youve got a firm grasp on the handle. Its crafted of aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum for supreme toughness. In true Joe fashion, the pocket clip is also a worlds first - sitting almost completely flush with the handle and likewise activated with light thumb pressure. His Minimalist® neck knives have proven to be very popular, so we are now offering three CRKT production versions. They are very small and lightweight knives which give surprising comfort and control, thanks to the unusual geometry of the full-tang blades, aided by three finger choils, friction grooves for the thumb, hand-contoured green-black resin impregnated fiber scales, and a braided fob. Unlike many small neck knives, this handle is really functional for a wide variety of daily cutting tasks. Each Minimalist comes with a custom-fitted glass filled nylon sheath and neck paracord for inverted carry as a neck knife. The knife is held securely in place by a positive detent which locks the base of the blade in place for maximum safety. Because the knife and sheath weigh about two ounces together, it is a personal carry you will barely notice. Minimalist® Tanto. The 2.125" Tanto blade shape is very strong because of the strong central spine of metal which extends nearly to the tip. This version has a straight Razor-Sharp front edge, which allows push cutting, and a concave main edge which feeds material into the edge for fast cutting. There isnt a person working in the knife industry today that knows more about the Tanto than Cold Steel does. It was, after all, Cold Steel who invented and popularized this knife style in the early 1980s. They have spent millions of dollars persuading the public, both through advertising and live or videotaped demonstrations, of the Tantos many advantages. They have been producing Tantos for more than 30 years now, and there is still no factory or custom knifemaker around making a Tanto that can approach the cutting, slashing or piercing power of one that is manufactured by Cold Steel. They feature American S35VN Alloy blades with DLC (Diamond Like Coating), razor sharp edges and sturdy, needle sharp points. The handles are made of high quality G-10. And for maximum strength and safety, Cold Steel has equipped the Ti-Lites with their patent pending, stainless steel leaf spring locks (proven, in their tests, to hold 130 lbs). For ease of carry, the Ti-Lites come equipped with a small, but unobtrusive steel pocket clip, and can be opened rapidly by using the thumb studs or by snagging a quillon on the edge of your pocket as you draw your knife out.
