The Leviathan's reverse Tanto blade is made from D2 tool steel, which offers good edge retention along with more toughness than most steels that are commonly seen in folding knives. Even though it is a high carbon tool steel, D2 has 10%-13% chromium which makes it a semi-stainless steel. The stonewashed stainless steel lock side scale is paired with a black G-10 show side scale on this model to save a bit of weight versus the standard all steel Leviathan.
