The grooves running lenghtwise on the handle are of sufficient depth and width to enable an extremely secure grip. Per Col. Applegate's instructions, steel weights are positioned carefully inside the handle to provide proper feel and balance. The blade is crafted from premium 440-C stainless steel with a Rockwell rating of 58 HRC. Black Handle. Each cross guard is serial numbered. Polished Natural Canvas Micarta handle slabs over a full tang construction attached with two nickel silver rivets and a barrel lanyard hole. The Bravo-1 Field knife comes with a leather sheath adjustable for multiply carry configurations. Overall length: 9" USA NOTE: CPM-3V is a tough and chip resistant tool steel. It is not a stainless steel. While more corrosion resistant than 1095 High Carbon it will stain and corrode. Keep the blade clean, dry and lightly oiled if you wish to try and preserve the finish.
