This limited-edition Sprint Run combines the outstanding functionality of the Manbug Lightweight with a special laminated blade made from HAP40 and SUS410 steels. The center layer of the full-flat-ground blade is made from HAP40—an advanced high-speed tool steel produced by the powder metallurgy process. Enriched with tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt, HAP40 boasts exceptional toughness and high abrasion resistance. This high-performance core is sandwiched between layers of SUS410—a martensitic stainless steel that gives the finished blade increased strength and improved corrosion resistance.
All the other features of this amazingly compact cutting tool are the defining qualities of the popular Manbug Lightweight, including a fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle with Bi-Directional Texturing™, a sturdy back lock mechanism, and a Trademark Round Hole™ in the blade that is much more user friendly than the nail nick of a conventional pocketknife. In the closed position, the “tail” of its full-flatground blade extends from the pivot-pin end of the handle, allowing the knife to be opened one handed like a classic straight razor. Once open, twin ball bearing detents within the handle’s frame index the sides of the blade to hold it in place. Together, this Ball Joint Non-Locking Mechanism, hand pressure on the blade’s tail, and generous finger choils provide an extremely safe and secure grip.
The NAND’s full-flat-ground blade is crafted from M398 stainless steel and also features a fully functional Trademark Round Hole™.
