$109.97The C.A.T. (Covert Anti-Terrorism) series includes some of the earliest models TOPS ever produced, and they have been in service ever since. They have been carried by military, law enforcement, hunters, campers, and bushcrafters. This new version includes Red and Black G10 handles with a tread we call Rocky Mountain Bulls-eye. Those grooves improve the grip and the look of the knife, but cause hot spots like many other tread patterns. The purpose of the C.A.T.s was to provide a solid back-up blade that is easy to conceal and could save lives in the right scenario and with proper training. It is a small, strong, highly versatile knife that is easy to use and maintain. The design allows for good penetration and slashing cuts as well as a multitude of EDC uses. The kydex sheath helps maintain a low profile and has a rotating clip so it can easily be worn in multiple carry positions. It is ground high enough and thin enough so that the blade geometry gives great slicing ability, and the spine gives the blade plenty of backbone. Your forefinger will lie comfortably along the top of the blade to maximize control during skinning and field dressing chores, and hold comfortably in the two most used whittling postitions---All this from a 2.5 oz knife! The notch at the rear of the handle serves two purposes. Use the deep recess for breaking wire and the wider notch is a bottle opener. 6 3/4" overall. The Bravo-1 Field Knife was initially designed for the Southern Training Center of the Force Recon units of the US Marine Corps in 2006. Demand is still high for this versitile patter among military and civilians alike that are looking for a strong and reliable field knife. The Bravo-1 mid-size fixed blade features a 1/4" thick 4 1/4" convex ground drop point blade of CPM-3V tool steel. Polished Natural Canvas Micarta handle slabs over a full tang construction attached with two nickel silver rivets and a barrel lanyard hole. The Bravo-1 Field knife comes with a leather sheath adjustable for multiply carry configurations. Overall length: 9" USA NOTE: CPM-3V is a tough and chip resistant tool steel. It is not a stainless steel. While more corrosion resistant than 1095 High Carbon it will stain and corrode. Keep the blade clean, dry and lightly oiled if you wish to try and preserve the finish. -
