With use, the blades will develop a distinctive dark finish. This is not a defect, but rather your guarantee of genuine high carbon steel. As with all quality cutlery, never let Old Hickory knives sit in water or place them in a dishwasher. Simply wash the knives and dry them thoroughly. -

NOTE: Be advised the blade steel used in this hunter is true high carbon steel. While considered by many as a superior steel for a hunting or field knife, high carbon steel will rust.
